Here are some questions for you to think about. The purpose of these questions is to prompt you to think about what you believe and why you hold to those beliefs. The answers to these questions shape your worldview.
What is your view of reality? Does it consist only of matter? Is it only spiritual in nature? Does it consist of both the material and the spiritual? Or, is reality just an illusion?
Does truth exist? If so, is truth absolute or subjective in nature? Or, can truth be absolute or subjective, depending upon the topic or issue? Can truth be known? If truth can't be known, how do you know that truth can't be known?
Do you believe in the existence of some type of Supreme Being (God, gods or deity)? If so, is the Supreme Being eternal, ever-present, all-knowing, and/or personal? Or, does the universe consist of an impersonal force that exists everywhere? Do you believe that a Supreme Being exists, but that it can't be known? If so, how do you know that it can't be known? If you don't think there is a Supreme Being, how sure are you that a Supreme Being doesn't exist? Or, are you not sure if a Supreme Being exists (this is called an agnostic)?
The Source of our Existence
How did the universe get here? Has it always existed or did it come into being? If it came into being, how did it come into being? Did it come into being on its own or did it come into being through an external source? If through an external source, what is that external source?
How did life begin? Did it come into being on its own or did it come into being through an external source? If through an external source, what is that external source?
Life's Meaning and Purpose
Does life have meaning or purpose? If so, where does meaning and purpose come from? Is it something you developed on your own? Or, is it something that is intrinsic to human beings? If you do have a meaning and purpose, where did they come from? What is your meaning? What is your purpose in life?
Meaning relates to identity.
Do you believe in the existence of an afterlife? If not, is oblivion what awaits us when we die?
